Alpana, founder and director of Alpana Homeopathy, needed a new identity for her business that above all reflected her character. Business cards and a company website also formed part of the brief.
Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine which treats the individual’s symptoms whilst also taking into account their mental, physical and emotional health. Therefore, the homeopath’s personality plays a big part in the relationships she creates with her patients.
An array of vibrant colours were stipulated as well as the importance of the words ‘gentle’ and ‘natural’. This was integrated into the illustration of a lotus, symbolising the ‘natural’ and ‘gentle’ as well as the flower’s other suggestive connotations; change, rebirth, purity.
After the brand mark was completed a new typeface based on ITC Avant Garde Gothic was created for the company name.
