We are all able
We were asked by the charity to take on a piece of pro bono work to create and produce a film for their 5th Annual Gala event as well as a film that would be used on their website and for further marketing. The piece was to be informative and mark the huge progress made for current sponsors/supporters, inspirational for future supporters and most importantly convey AbleChildAfrica’s vision; to achieve equal rights for disabled children and young people in Africa.
With a packed schedule, limited time and extremely limited resource we set about developing a strong conceptual story. The concept simply played on the the charity’s namesake – the message: “We are all able”. Rather than focus on the negative, terrifying environments and realities these children face, we focused on their strength, determination and empowerment.
The outcome was an inspirational and celebratory piece focusing on the achievements, the joy in the activities the children are involved in. The message is, “I am able, we are able, we are all able”, focusing on the strength, courage and ability of these children as well as everyone involved.
